After my two years in Bern, I moved back to the States, namely Brownsville, TX, where I lived from September 2000 until July 2002. Due in part to a busy work schedule, I never managed to track down much in the way of Real World sports, beyond using DirecTV's regional sports network package to watch college hockey without sports bar hassles. Among the teams I failed to follow were the Corpus Christi Ice Rays (three hours is a long drive for a minor league hockey game, so I only made it once, even with Cornellian Eddy Skazyk '96 in the nets for the Rays), the UTB/TSC Scorpion Baseball Club (college baseball has always been difficult for me to follow, since it starts in the heart of hockey season and ends just when my thoughts are turning to the diamond), and the Rio Grande Valley White Wings (even after telling CricInfo's commentary team, I didn't manage to attend a single baseball game in 2001).
